Staff Accountant
We are seeking a STAFF ACCOUNTANT to join our team. The staff accountant’s responsibility will include digital mapping, data analysis, account & data reconciliations, inventory accounting, and journal entries. A successful candidate should have 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting and analysis, advanced knowledge of Excel, advanced understanding of GAAP, careful attention to detail, and good problem solving skills. This position is a member of the accounting department at Shout! Studios. They will collaborate with the team as well as communicate with other departments to help achieve the strategic vision and goals of the company.
Reports to: Accounting Manager with additional tasks directed by other accounting staff
Exemption Status: Exempt
Pay Rate: $60k - $80k if annualized DOE

Work Location: We offer a flexible, hybrid setting where employees work both from home and onsite in West LA.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Structure vendor data to run scripts in NetSuite to verify balances and allocate project expenses.
• Assemble inventory items in NetSuite.
• Create PIM files to match projects provided by customers with our DVTN log.
• Reconcile and investigate transactions recorded in NetSuite with items listed in bank statements.
• Record sales tax, credit card, and PEX card expenses and fees.
• Extract source data from distributors to prepare entries.
• Develop and adjust model for accounting entry of Shopify orders.
• Assist in month end close by preparing and recording journal entries, accruals, account
reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Inquire with other departments about missing expenses and needed approvals.
• Review accounts daily and adjust transactions as needed.
• Ad hoc projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3-5 years’ experience in accounting. Entertainment media company experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Must be detail oriented, analytical, an excellent communicator, and well-organized.
• Strong understanding and experience with Microsoft Office and NetSuite ERP or other similar ERP systems.
• Experience manipulating large datasets with advanced formulas and functions.
• Understanding of accounting processes and advanced knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience with reconciliations, data analysis, and journal entries.
