Senior Royalty Analyst
The Senior Royalty Analyst is a key role within the Royalty Department, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely royalty reporting in line with Shout Studio’s contractual obligations. This position will primarily focus on preparing manual royalty statements for various licensors, including artists and content owners, while supporting improvements in reporting processes and systems. This role offers an opportunity to grow within the Royalty Department, directly contributing to Shout Studios’ mission of excellence in royalty management.

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $28 - $32 per hour

Work Location: We offer a flexible, hybrid setting where employees work both from home and onsite in West LA.
Key Responsibilities
• Statement Preparation: Prepare accurate and timely manual royalty statements across various business agreements (e.g., direct royalties, joint ventures, distribution deals) using Microsoft Excel, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with contractual terms.
• Contract Analysis: Review and interpret complex agreements to ensure all royalty provisions are accurately represented in statements.
• Interdepartmental Coordination: Work with Business Affairs to clarify contract terms and collaborate with departments such as Production and Marketing to include relevant expenses in royalty statements. Liaise with Accounting to confirm correct expense allocation within the general ledger.
• System Improvement Support: Assist the Senior Manager, Royalties, in developing and implementing new systems and procedures to improve the statement preparation process.
• Data Reporting: Collaborate with Accounting to optimize report generation and data extraction for royalty needs.
• Inquiries and Issue Resolution: Address internal and external inquiries, providing clarity on royalty statement issues. Work closely with the manual statement prep team to resolve questions.
• Ad Hoc Reporting: Pull ad hoc revenue and expense reports from NetSuite for royalty statement population and provide support for miscellaneous tasks as required by the Senior Manager.
Skills & Qualifications
• Royalty Experience: Prior experience in royalty administration is preferred.
• Advanced Excel Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMPRODUCT, and SUMIFS functions to analyze and aggregate data effectively.
• Attention to Detail: Highly organized with a meticulous eye for detail and accuracy in data handling.
• Entertainment Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with entertainment industry terminology and experience with legal contracts and licenses.
• Effective Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across departments and with licensors.
• Adaptability: Ability to work independently, learn new software programs quickly, and handle a range of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred Software Knowledge: Experience with RTS and NetSuite is a plus.
